Federal Schools new timings for Ramadan 2025 announced
Schools closed for five days in Punjab city
ISLAMABAD β The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has officially revised the operational hours for all federal educational institutions during the sacred month of Ramadan 2025.
The newly established schedule will take effect from the first day of Ramadan, after which federal schools will automatically revert to their pre-Ramadan timings.
Islamabad School Timings for Ramadan
As per the updated schedule, double-shift federal schools will function from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM from Monday to Thursday, with Fridayβs sessions also concluding at 12:00 PM. Evening shift schools will be operational from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Meanwhile, institutions operating on a single-shift basis will adhere to a uniform schedule of 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM throughout the month.
Moon Sighting Committee Meeting for Ramadan Commencement
Simultaneously, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is set to convene a crucial meeting today (February) in Peshawar, the capital city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, to observe and verify the Ramadan crescent for 2025.
The session will be presided over by Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azam, who will oversee the documentation of testimonies regarding the sighting of the moon.
The definitive decision concerning the lunar sighting, which marks the commencement of the fasting month, will be announced by the central committee.
SUPARCOβs Prediction on Ramadan Moon Visibility
Meanwhile, the national space agency, SUPARCO, has forecasted that the Ramadan moon is unlikely to be visible on Friday, February 28. Based on its scientific calculations, the holy month is expected to officially begin on March 2, 2025.
