Hackers active to steal cryptocurrency through virus

Hackers became active to steal cryptocurrency vault data through malware viruses.

The Pakistan Cyber Emergency Response Team has issued an advisory in this regard, stating that malware viruses are spread under the guise of PDF files. These viruses are spread using images of fake bot detection systems and information and data stolen from the virus can be sold on hacking forums.

The advisory further stated that a widespread phishing campaign has been identified from the bot detection system, clicking on images leads users to move to phishing websites.

The cyber emergency response team’s advisory states that training should be given to identify harmful PDFs and monitor fake websites, report to fraudulent domains.

The advisory recommended that all systems be updated to prevent attacks and said that a multi-factor verification system should be adopted and cyber security defenses should be strengthened.
