Man jailed for second marriage

A man from Wazirabad has been handed a six-month imprisonment for getting marriage for the second time.
The decision was announced by a local court on the complaint of his first wife.
According to the police, Ahmad Raza contracted a second marriage without the due permission of his first wife.
When his first wife learnt about his second marriage, she logged a complaint with the special court. According to her, she married Raza eight year ago and have two children together.
She told the court that Raza contracted the second marriage without her permission.
Taking action on her plea, the court sentenced Raza to six months in prison and also imposed a fine of Rs500,000 on him.
The verdict was announced by Wazirabad Additional Sessions Judge Muhammad Aslam Panjotha.
