JIT summons Omar Ayub, Aleema Khan over negative propaganda on social media

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Omar Ayub and Aleema Khan have been summoned by the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) over negative propaganda on social media.

According to sources, notices have been issued to two PTI leaders regarding negative propaganda on social media.

Opposition leader Omar Ayub and PTI founder’s sister Aleema Khan were among those who received the notice. The JIT has directed Aleema Khan to appear before it today (March 12).

The sources added the JIT has issued a notice to Omar Ayub to appear before it tomorrow (March 13).  The JIT formed by the federal government is headed by the Inspector General of Islamabad Police.

The JIT has been constituted under sections of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016. The JIT has evidence regarding the leaders to be summoned.
