UAE Visa Ban: MOFA shares key details about visas for Pakistani citizens

UAE Work Visa for Pakistanis – Application Process, Documents, and Dubai 2-Year Visa Price
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) has provided a detailed report to the National Assembly regarding the recent limitations on UAE visa issuances for Pakistani citizens.
According to MOFA, multiple factors have contributed to the Gulf nation’s tighter visa regulations. Among these, cases of Pakistani applicants submitting fake degrees, diplomas, and fraudulent job contracts have raised concerns for UAE authorities. Additionally, some Pakistani workers were found overstaying their visas, leading to further scrutiny.
The report also highlights that certain individuals were involved in political and criminal activities, prompting the UAE to implement stricter regulations. Furthermore, a segment of the Pakistani expatriate community has been flagged for misusing social media platforms, which has added to the challenges.
No Official UAE Visa Ban
Despite the restrictions, MOFA clarified that there is no formal ban on UAE visas for Pakistani citizens. However, the UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security has introduced a five-year visa policy.
Under the new process, applicants must provide a round-trip ticket, hotel reservations, proof of property ownership (if applicable), and a prepayment of 3,000 dirhams.
MOFA assured that the Pakistani Embassy in Abu Dhabi has taken up the matter with UAE authorities at ministerial and under-secretary levels. The Government of Pakistan is actively engaged with UAE officials to resolve the issue and facilitate smoother visa processes for Pakistani applicants.
