Google AI solves 10-year problem in just two days

Technology company Google’s new AI tool solved a problem in just two days that human scientists have been trying to solve for a decade.
Researchers at Imperial College London achieved this success when they tested Google’s latest I-I model ‘Co-Scientist’ on an issue in which they had been stuck for a long time.
In the model, the scientists put a short prompt about some superbugs getting resistance to antibiotics, after which they received several suggestions from AI, including the answer that was considered correct.
Professor Jose Penedes, the college’s Department of Infectious Diseases, said that this algorithm is capable of looking at available evidence, analyzing possibilities, asking questions, making experiments and arriving at the same hypothesis in a short time, which scientists took years to reach.
He said that such an AI platform is still in the initial stages but it can be said that it has the potential to supercharge science.
