Rainy spell expected across Punjab from March 25

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted the arrival of a strong westerly wave that will affect the western and upper regions of Pakistan starting Monday night, March 25.

The weather system will impact upper and central parts of the country from March 25 to 27, with some areas continuing to see effects until March 28.

According to the forecast, widespread rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds are expected in Gilgit-Baltistan, including Diamer, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche, and Shigar. These areas may also see snowfall over mountains and occasional heavy downpours.

In Azad Jammu and Kashmir, areas such as Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Kotli, Mirpur, and others are also likely to experience similar weather.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall over high-altitude areas are expected in Chitral, Swat, Dir, Malakand, Mansehra, Abbottabad, and Peshawar, among others. Hailstorms are also possible in some places.

Rain and thunderstorms are forecasted in Waziristan, Kohat, Bannu, Karak, Dera Ismail Khan, and nearby areas on March 25 and 26.

The weather system will also affect Punjab, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, and other cities from March 25 to 27. Rain, thunderstorms, and occasional hail are expected.

Cities like Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah, Toba Tek Singh, and Bhakkar will be affected mostly on March 25 and 26.

In Balochistan, rain and thunderstorms are expected in Quetta, Zhob, Chaman, Sibi, Khuzdar, Chagai, and other areas on March 25 and 26, with wind and dust storms in some regions.

The PMD advises citizens to stay alert and take precautions during this wet and stormy spell.
