India: Muslims barred from offering Eid prayers in open places

Narendra Modi’s Hindu extremist government has made it difficult for Muslims to offer Eid prayers.
According to Indian media, the Hindu extremist police in Meerut city of Uttar Pradesh stopped Muslims from offering Eid prayers in open places. The Meerut police have threatened to cancel their passports and driving licences if Eid prayers are offered at any place or road.
Police said if any person is found offering Eid prayers on the road, an FIR will also be registered against him. Muslims should offer Eid prayers only in mosques. In case of violation, other stringent legal actions will also be taken.
Last year, cases were registered against 200 people who offered Eid prayers on the road in Meerut and 80 people were identified and action was taken.
