How the Feature Works

WhatsApp’s status feature, found under the WhatsApp Updates section, functions similarly to stories on Facebook and Instagram. It lets users share text, images, and videos that automatically disappear after 24 hours.

With the new update, users will notice a music note icon when creating a status update. By tapping this icon, they can select and add a music clip to their status. For photo-based statuses, users can add up to 15 seconds of music, while video statuses can feature music clips of up to 60 seconds.
