Pakistan Accuses Afghan Taliban of Failing to Curb Terrorism, Cites TTP Presence in Afghanistan

Pakistan’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has raised concerns over what it described as a credible threat of terrorism originating from Afghan territory, accusing the Afghan Taliban of attempting to divert attention from the issue by shifting the focus towards Pakistan’s internal affairs. The ministry said the Taliban government had failed to prevent attacks against Pakistan and that its narrative could not conceal its shortcomings in countering terrorism.
Citing a report by an analytical team, the ministry stated that approximately 6,000 Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) fighters were present in Afghanistan. It urged the Afghan authorities to acknowledge the facts and take concrete measures against terrorist safe havens and networks operating on Afghan soil.
The ministry stressed that the Afghan Taliban government must address the security threat rather than deny the allegations. It reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to taking necessary measures to protect its citizens and safeguard its territorial integrity, warning that the use of Afghan territory for attacks against Pakistan remained a serious security concern.
