GTA VI price reveal will leave you stunned

The rumored price of GTA VI is truly shocking, and you might want to organize your GTA Online friends to make some more money. GTA VI will dominate social media when it’s released and will shatter many sales records, and Rockstar Games knows that.

Lately, there has been much discussion about the idea to raise the prices of video games. The rise in cost may be in part due to inflation, but it is worth mentioning that, in most instances, production costs for video games today is lower than the previous decades, specifically due to digital distribution.

Many have speculated for the ninth title in the Grand Theft Auto series (GTA 6) being the first title to be standard-priced at $80 on launch day, but that honor is now owned by Nintendo Switch 2’s exclusive Mario Kart World, retailing for $80 digitally. A price point like this could create a model that wouldn’t have too many issues finding a publisher to follow along.

However, GTA VI could exceed the $100 mark, as certain people in the industry speculate from their reasoning. Anurag Reddy from Analytics Insight thinks the Collector’s Edition may cost between $250 and $300: roughly the same price as an Xbox Series S.

While that sounds insane, collector’s editions typically have pretty high price points, so it wouldn’t be outlandish. It would be a lot more surprising if it was up to the speculated price of $400.

While this is all speculation for now, it’s likely Rockstar Games will offer multiple versions of GTA VI. If the Collector’s Edition does arrive, fans are hoping it will include more than just a lockbox, bag, and baseball cap.

There’s no official release date yet, but GTA VI is expected to launch later this year for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
