How to check your Iqama status online in Saudi Arabia - April 2025
Saudi Arabia offers foreign residents, including citizens of Pakistan, both online and offline options to verify the status of their Iqama (residency permit).
The Iqama, issued by the Ministry of Interior, serves as proof of one’s legal residency in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and is required for employment, for obtaining a driving license, and for access to government services.
Expatriates must ensure their Iqama remains valid, as failure to do so can result in fines or legal consequences. Therefore, it’s crucial to regularly check the status of their Iqama to ensure it hasn’t expired.
To check the Iqama status online, expatriates can use three methods:
- Ministry of Labor Website: Visit the official website, enter the Iqama number and date of birth, complete the captcha, and click ‘Next’ for the results.
- Absher App: Log into the Absher app using your username or Iqama number, then select ‘Query Iqama Expiry Service’ to view the details on your phone screen.
- SMS Service: Send a message with the format “12SponsorIDIqama number” to the relevant network number:
- STC (Sawa): 888994
- Mobily: 624444
- Zain: 709444
For those who prefer offline methods, they can visit the nearest Jawazat (passport office) to check their Iqama status in person.
