Iran Strikes US Bases in Bahrain, Jordan and Iraq in Retaliatory Missile and Drone Attacks

TEHRAN: The conflict between Iran and the United States has intensified once again, with Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) saying its forces launched missile and drone attacks against US military installations in Bahrain, Jordan and Iraq.

According to Al Jazeera, the Iranian operations came in response to a fresh wave of US attacks on Iran. US Central Command has also confirmed that American forces conducted a new series of strikes against targets inside Iran on September 1.

The IRGC said Iranian forces carried out heavy ballistic-missile attacks against Prince Hassan Air Base in Jordan and a US Marine facility.

Iranian officials said the operations were retaliation for recent American strikes that resulted in civilian casualties inside Iran.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei also issued a warning to Washington, saying Iran’s Armed Forces had prepared “unforgettable lessons” for the United States.

The statement marked his first major warning since the latest round of military operations between Tehran and Washington resumed.

The security situation has also become increasingly tense across the Gulf.

Kuwait said its air-defense systems were effectively responding to drone threats, while Bahrain reported that its air defenses had intercepted and destroyed incoming Iranian drones.

The developments have raised concerns that the conflict could expand beyond Iranian territory and directly affect US military facilities and regional allies hosting American forces.

US Central Command said American forces completed another wave of attacks against targets in Iran on September 1.

According to the US military, the strikes followed what Washington described as Iranian attempts to target commercial shipping and American military personnel.

Meanwhile, Iranian state media reported multiple explosions across southern parts of the country, including Asaluyeh, Jiroft, Bandar Abbas, Qeshm Island, Konarak, Chabahar, Jask, Sirik and Lavan.

The latest escalation has also highlighted the growing civilian toll of the conflict.

Iran’s Red Crescent said a residential home in Sirik was hit while a wedding celebration was taking place. The aid agency reported that at least four people were killed, including a child, while more than 50 others were wounded.

The incident has intensified concerns over the humanitarian consequences of the continuing military confrontation.

Iran says American strikes are causing civilian casualties, while Washington maintains that its operations are aimed at addressing military and security threats.

Iran’s reported attacks against US positions in Bahrain, Jordan and Iraq, together with Washington’s latest strikes inside Iran, have pushed tensions across the Middle East to a new level.
