Pakistanis in Saudi Arabia Can Now Update Passport Information via Absher

Pakistani citizens and other expatriates residing in Saudi Arabia can now update their passport information through the Absher platform by paying a specified fee, eliminating the need to visit the Jawazat (passport office).

Passport Information Update Requirement

Expatriates must update their passport details after renewing their passports, as the new document comes with a different expiry date. This online service is available to expatriates, including Pakistanis, who are above 18 years old.

How to Update Passport Information on Absher

Pakistani nationals can update their passport details through their employer’s Absher account. The process involves:

• Logging into Absher and selecting the “My Services” section.
• Navigating to “Passports” and then to “Resident Identity Services.”
• Uploading a clear photo of the new passport.
• Confirming an undertaking stating that the previous passport is not lost and that there is no ‘absence from work’ report against the foreign worker.

Passport information updates are allowed once every five years for a single worker. However, if an expatriate requires a duplicate passport due to loss, they must visit the Jawazat office.

Limitations of Online Updates

According to the Saudi Gazette, the online update service will not be available if the previous passport contained details of family members who have since obtained new passports. In such cases, the individual must visit the Jawazat office to complete the update.

Service Fee for Passport Updates

The fee for updating passport information via Absher is 69 Saudi Riyals, which includes Value Added Tax (VAT). This initiative streamlines the process for expatriates while ensuring compliance with Saudi residency regulations.
