10 April, 2025 23:55

In a historic event for Ghulaman-e-Abbas School (GAS), alumni from across the decades reunited on April 9, 2025, to celebrate the school’s 70th anniversary. This first-ever alumni reunion brought together former students who shared memories, celebrated their achievements, and honored the school’s significant impact on their lives.

The program kicked off with a heartfelt recital of the Quran and Naat, setting a spiritually uplifting tone for the gathering. Shahid Raza Badami, the current principal and an alumnus of GAS, warmly welcomed the attendees. He took a moment to introduce several prominent alumni, including his own batchmates, who had gathered to celebrate the occasion.

In his speech, Badami reflected on the unforgettable education and strong foundation he received at GAS, which has played a pivotal role in his personal and professional journey. He also made an exciting announcement: the school would soon begin enrolling girls up to the matriculation level, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s history.

One of the highlights of the event was the inspiring speeches from successful alumni who shared their journeys and achievements. Many of them credited their success to the guidance and education they received at GAS, with a special mention to Abdul Karim (Ak) Khatri, whose contributions were recognized by every speaker. Khatri’s mentorship and support were acknowledged as being key to many alumni’s accomplishments.

Mush Panjwani, the successful brand owner of Coffee Wagera, shared his entrepreneurial journey, from his early struggles to building a thriving business. He encouraged current students to work hard, pursue innovative ideas, and stay focused in order to achieve financial and spiritual success.

Another key speaker, the Chief of Hemani Group of Companies, also reflected on his early days at GAS and how the school helped shape his character and work ethic. His company is now one of the top private enterprises globally, and he credited much of his success to the foundation laid by Ghulaman-e-Abbas School.

Despite the short duration of the event, it left a lasting impact on everyone present. Due to time constraints, not all alumni were able to share their stories on stage, but the sense of pride, community, and achievement was palpable throughout the day.

The reunion underscored the lasting legacy of Ghulaman-e-Abbas School, highlighting the success and accomplishments of its alumni. The event also reaffirmed the school’s commitment to fostering excellence and growth, ensuring that future generations will continue to thrive.

The reunion was a beautiful reminder of the strong bonds that connect the GAS family, and it was clear that Abdul Karim (Ak) Khatri’s guidance and vision were central to shaping the achievements of many of the attendees.
