WhatsApp Extends Video Status Limit to 90 Seconds

15 April, 2025 16:39

Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp is currently testing a new feature that enables users to upload video status updates up to 90 seconds long, according to a report by WABetaInfo.

This update removes the hassle of segmenting videos, allowing users to post longer, uninterrupted clips as status updates. Previously, the limit was 60 seconds, which itself was an upgrade from the 30-second cap introduced earlier last year.

The new 90-second limit gives users more flexibility to share extended moments and richer stories without the need for editing or splitting videos into smaller portions.

Beta testers who have received access to the feature report a smoother and more expressive experience, with the additional time allowing for clearer communication in a single video status. However, the rollout is still in progress and not all beta users have access to the feature just yet.

In addition to this enhancement, WhatsApp recently began testing a memory function for its Meta AI chatbot. Available to select users on the latest Android beta version 2.25.11.13, the new feature lets users instruct Meta AI to remember specific details. This allows the AI to deliver more personalized and contextually accurate responses, enhancing user interactions over time.

These updates reflect WhatsApp’s ongoing efforts to improve user experience by introducing meaningful enhancements to both social sharing and AI-powered communication tools.
