Spotify Down - Global users report widespread streaming problems
Over 20,000 frustrated users found their playlists suddenly cut off today as Spotify suffered another major outage. The app greeted many with just a black screen and spinning loading bubbles—a familiar sight for those who endured similar issues earlier this month.
What’s Happening?
- 1 PM surge: Reports on DownDetector spiked dramatically
- Multi-device failures: Phones, desktops, and tablets all affected
- Error messages: Some users forcibly logged out with “502 Server Error” alerts
Spotify’s status team acknowledged the meltdown with a tweet:
“We’re aware of issues and are checking them out!”
🔊 “My morning run is gonna be awful without my playlist!” – @RunnerGirl93
🔊 “PC version kicked me out mid-song. Now it won’t let me back in.” – meow (DownDetector)
The company’s advice? “Try logging out, restarting your device, then logging back in.” (Spoiler: Many said this didn’t help.)
This marks the second major crash in three weeks—the April 9 outage left users equally irritated until Spotify tweeted: “Should be all clear now! You rock.”
