Melted Magnum Ice Cream Leads to Deadly Attack: Brigitte W. Kills Elderly Friend
Munich, Germany – April 17, 2024 – A 90-year-old German woman is on trial for allegedly beating her best friend to death with a saucepan after an argument over melted Magnum ice creams. The shocking case has stunned Munich, revealing a violent end to a decades-long friendship.
What Happened?
The accused, identified only as Brigitte W., and her 77-year-old friend Petra B. had been close for 40 years. On July 18, 2024, during a summer heatwave, the two went shopping together and bought ice creams. However, the treats melted on the way home.
When Petra tried to put the melted ice cream in the freezer, Brigitte allegedly snapped, “Don’t do that!” Prosecutors say she then flew into a rage, hitting Petra three times in the head with a saucepan. The blows knocked Petra to the floor, where she later died from her injuries.
A Delayed Call for Help
Instead of calling emergency services immediately, Brigitte waited three days before reporting the death. When police arrived, she initially claimed Petra had fallen during an argument and chose to stay on the cool kitchen floor because of the heat.
However, investigators found disturbing details. While Petra’s body lay on the floor, Brigitte allegedly removed her bloodstained clothes, washed them, and hung them up to dry.
A History of Abuse
Prosecutors revealed that the friendship had turned toxic in recent months. Brigitte was described as “vindictive and bossy,” with frequent arguments escalating into “violence and humiliation” against Petra. Despite this, Petra remained loyal, even helping Brigitte with shopping.
Police had been called to their apartment multiple times for domestic disputes. In one chilling statement, Brigitte told officers after her arrest: “I had a fight with my friend, it turned out badly. Now she’s dead in my apartment.”
No Bail for the 90-Year-Old
Brigitte’s lawyer, Johannes Makepeace, argued for bail, saying his wheelchair-bound client posed no flight risk. However, judges denied the request, fearing she might flee despite her age.
The trial continues, leaving many questioning how a lifelong friendship could end in such a tragic and violent way.
