Benedetto Ceraulo Who killed Maurizio Gucci Shoots Son in Family Dispute

23 April, 2025 14:36

Benedetto Ceraulo, the man convicted for the 1995 murder of fashion icon Maurizio Gucci, is in critical condition after a violent incident at his home in Santa Maria a Monte, near Pisa. Reports say that Ceraulo, 63, shot his 37-year-old son, Gaetano, in the face during a family argument, before attempting to take his own life.

Despite his serious injury, Gaetano stayed conscious and managed to drive himself to a nearby bar. Emergency services later took him to a hospital, and he is now in stable condition.

Ceraulo is being treated at Cisanello Hospital and remains in critical condition. Authorities are investigating the incident, which took place at the home where Ceraulo had been living for the last two years after serving time for the famous murder of Maurizio Gucci.

In 1995, Benedetto Ceraulo was part of the group hired by Patrizia Reggiani, Gucci’s ex-wife, to kill him. After being sentenced to 28 years in prison, Ceraulo was granted work release in 2017 and took part in a rehabilitation program.

Reggiani, who served 17 years for planning the murder, was also offered work release in 2011 but turned it down, saying, “I’ve never worked in my life and I don’t intend to start now.”
