Suzuki Swift Price Rises by Rs. 80,000 in Pakistan – Check New Price

Pakistan Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) increased the price of its Suzuki Swift GL MT variant by Rs. 80,000 on April 26, 2025. The car’s price went up from Rs. 4,336,000 to Rs. 4,416,000. This is the second price hike by Suzuki in 2025, following a Rs. 120,000 increase for the Suzuki Alto in February.

Why Did Prices Increase?

The company linked the Swift’s price rise to “economic challenges” but did not share exact reasons. Earlier, Suzuki raised the Alto’s price to add new safety features and technology. The upgraded Alto now has better airbags, a touchscreen, and improved fuel efficiency.

Impact on Buyers

The Swift GL MT is a popular hatchback in Pakistan. However, frequent price hikes could hurt sales. Many buyers already struggle with high car prices due to inflation and taxes. A car dealer in Lahore said, “Middle-class buyers are shifting to used cars or cheaper brands.”

Suzuki’s Upgraded Alto

After the February price increase, Suzuki officially launched the new Alto model with updates:

• Safety: Extra airbags and rear parking sensors.

• Tech: A 7-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth.

• Design: New alloy wheels and LED lights.
  The company claims these changes offer “better value,” but critics say the Alto is now too expensive for budget buyers.

Industry experts warn Suzuki’s strategy risks losing customers. “Competitors like Toyota and Hyundai offer similar features at lower prices,” said auto analyst Ali Raza. Pakistan’s car sales dropped by 18% in 2024 due to rising costs and loan rates.

Suzuki plans to launch a hybrid version of the Swift by late 2025. However, analysts doubt it will help unless prices stabilize. Meanwhile, the government is reviewing taxes to ease pressure on car buyers, but no changes are confirmed yet.
