Concern continues to grow for Jax Gratton, a 34-year-old hairstylist who has been missing for nearly two weeks after she was last seen leaving her apartment.
Gratton was last spotted around 10 PM on April 15, sparking an urgent search across Denver. Her family and friends became worried after she failed to reach out during Easter weekend — something her loved ones say is completely out of character.
Speaking to The Denver Post, Jax’s mother, Cherilynne Gratton-Camis, said it was “very unusual” for her daughter not to call home during a holiday.
“She did not reach out to her parents on Easter and that’s very unlike her,” said Brandy Carey, a close friend and co-worker, during an interview with KDVR-TV.
Missed Appointments Raised Alarms
Gratton, who worked as a hairstylist in Denver, had completed her last known appointment on April 12. When she started missing scheduled appointments — particularly with clients she was very close to — friends realized something was wrong.
Carey told KCNC-TV: “It was when she started missing client appointments, especially with certain clients she’s very close to, that we realized something wasn’t quite right. We all started messaging each other, asking, ‘Have you seen Jax?’ And everyone said no.”
Concerned friends and family then launched efforts to find her, posting missing person flyers across the Denver area.
Disturbing Details About Her Disappearance
When Gratton left her home on April 15, she reportedly did so without her makeup, medication, or even her beloved cat. These details have further worried those close to her, as they are strong indicators that she did not plan to be gone for long.
Adding to the concern, Gratton’s last known activity on social media was a selfie posted on April 10 featuring her cat. That Instagram post has since been flooded with comments from worried friends, family, and supporters pleading for her safe return.
Before that selfie, Gratton had shared a joyful post showing off gifts she had received from clients, writing: “So blessed to have clients that gift me during the holidays.”
Gratton’s Life Journey
Gratton, who is transgender, often shared updates about her journey and surgeries with her followers. She had built a supportive community online and often spoke about her personal growth.
In March 2023, she celebrated one year of sobriety, posting an emotional message about her transformation: “I am no longer running away from my emotions and feelings; I’m walking in the light of a spiritual path. The love and support that has been shown and given to me makes me value my self-worth. I deserve a life of freedom filled with love and growth. Blessed it be!”
Ongoing Search Efforts
The Denver Police Department has not released many details about the ongoing investigation, but they continue to urge anyone with information to come forward.
Friends, family, and the local community remain hopeful and are organizing search parties and awareness campaigns on social media.
As the days go by, the call to bring Jax Gratton home grows louder.
