Two Dead, One Injured in Alaska Plane Crash: What To Know
A small plane crashed near Nanwalek, Alaska on Monday, killing two people and seriously injuring one. The crash happened on April 28, on the southern part of the Kenai Peninsula.
According to the Anchorage Daily News, the aircraft was a single-engine Cessna 207. It took off from Homer around 2 p.m. and was operating as a small commercial flight.
All three people on board were adults. One survivor was seriously hurt and flown by medical helicopter to a hospital near Anchorage, as stated by the Alaska Department of Public Safety.
The cause of the crash is not known yet. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is now investigating what went wrong.
In a message on X (formerly Twitter), the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities shared their condolences. They said: “Our thoughts are with all those involved.”
