Tragic Death of Six-Year-Old Girl After Being Hit by Range Rover in Rochdale

A six-year-old girl has sadly died after being hit by a car in Rochdale, Greater Manchester.

The accident happened around 5:35 PM on Ashfield Road, as a Range Rover was driving westbound. According to police, the young girl had entered the road when she was struck by the vehicle.

Emergency Services Rushed to Help

Paramedics and police quickly arrived at the scene. Sadly, despite their efforts, the girl had suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead shortly after.

Driver Stayed at the Scene

The driver of the Range Rover remained at the scene after the accident. Police have confirmed that no arrests have been made at this time.

Investigation Underway

The case is being handled by Greater Manchester Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU). Officers are still working to understand exactly what happened.

Detective Constable Thomas Johnson shared a message of sympathy for the child’s family. “Our thoughts are with the family of the girl who tragically lost her life. We are doing everything we can to support them.”

He added: “If anyone saw what happened or has CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage, please come forward. This information could be very important to our investigation.”

Road Closed for Hours

Ashfield Road was closed for several hours on Monday evening while police investigated. An air ambulance was also seen in the area after the crash.
