Tracy Shaw Stuns Fans with Youthful New Selfie

Former Coronation Street star Tracy Shaw has wowed fans by posting a radiant new selfie to Instagram, over two decades after her dramatic departure from the ITV soap. Now 51, Tracy appears more youthful than ever as she enjoys sunshine in her garden — wearing a blue tank top, beaded necklace, and her signature blonde curls.

Tracy portrayed the beloved character Maxine Peacock from 1995 until 2003. Maxine met a grisly end at the hands of the show’s infamous villain Richard Hillman (played by Brian Capron), who murdered her with a crowbar in one of the soap’s most chilling storylines.

During her seven-year run, Tracy became a television favourite — even earning the title of “Rear of the Year” in 1996. Her character was involved in several romantic plots, eventually marrying Ashley Peacock, though Maxine’s child Joshua was fathered by another man. Ashley, however, chose to raise Joshua as his own.

Tracy’s decision to leave Corrie came after a reported salary dispute, with producers allegedly slashing her pay and offering only a one-year renewal. After her departure, she took on dramatic roles on stage and television, including a bold performance in The Blue Room alongside Jason Connery.

Her personal life included high-profile relationships — she was once engaged to Darren Day before he left her for actress Isla Fisher. Tracy later married TV producer Robert Ashworth in a lavish ceremony, though they divorced two years later. She later had two sons, Louis and Luca, with childhood friend Ashley Poundall.

Though she briefly stepped away from the spotlight to focus on her children, Tracy has recently returned to acting, appearing in productions like Cookster: The Darkest Days, Thirteen Cars, and Finding My Voice. She also shared her struggles with sudden fame in a 2019 appearance on Loose Women, noting the pressure of paparazzi attention during her time on Coronation Street.
