Britain’s Got Talent’s Teddy Magic Delays Live Performance Again Amid Concerns

Teddy Magic won't be performing this weekend(Image: ITV)
Young magician Teddy Magic, the eight-year-old fan-favorite from Britain’s Got Talent, will once again not perform this weekend, as the live semi-finals continue on ITV. Despite being originally scheduled to open last Saturday’s show, Teddy’s performance was postponed due to last-minute difficulties backstage.
What Happened Last Week?
During Saturday’s live semi-final, hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly introduced Teddy as the night’s first performer. However, the show was quickly thrown into a change of plan. Ant told viewers: “Now, Teddy isn’t quite ready backstage yet… so we’re just going to chat to you judges—”
Dec added: “We’re going to have a little change of plan,”
while Ant clarified that Teddy needed more time to get “ready and composed.”
Simon Cowell supported the decision, saying: “It’s fine, it’s fine. If he’s not ready, he’s not ready.”
Though the expectation was that Teddy might appear later in the episode, Dec later confirmed he would not be performing that night after all: “[Teddy] won’t be performing tonight, but we hope to see him later on in the series.”
Still Missing From This Weekend’s Line-Up
Despite hopes that he might return for this weekend’s show, Teddy Magic is not included in the latest semi-final line-up. Scheduled to perform instead are:
Magician Alexandra Burgio
Dance group Cheer re Mans
Magician and dancer Jannick Holste
Singer John Pierce
Dancers Lil M’s
Guitarist Olly Pearson
Singer Stacey Leadbeatter
Impressionist Will Burns
Fans Send Support and Raise Concerns
Teddy’s absence prompted an outpouring of concern and support on social media. Many fans voiced their well wishes: “I hope little Teddy was ok. I think children should only be able to apply age 11+. An adult performer would be nervous and overwhelmed in a live show, never mind an 8-year-old.” – one viewer on X (formerly Twitter)
“@antanddec @BGT is Teddy Magic ok? Hope he’s doing ok as it’s a huge night for a little lad.” – another fan tweeted
Others criticized the lack of communication from the show: “Bit awful of @BGT not to provide any news or reassurance,” one person wrote.
“I’m gutted about #Teddy not performing tonight in @BGT. I really hope he’s okay!” another added.
What’s Next for Teddy?
Sources suggest that a last-minute issue with the act led to the decision to postpone Teddy’s performance, and he is still expected to appear in a later live semi-final. While no further details have been officially shared, fans are keeping their fingers crossed that the young magician will return to the BGT stage soon.
