Olivia Vogler’s Security Camera Captures Thief Dancing Before Smashing Car Windows

In a bizarre and unsettling moment, Olivia Vogler, a resident of Cleveland’s Edgewater neighborhood, captured a car thief on her home security camera dancing before he and two others smashed several car windows and fled the scene.

The incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. on Viking Court. Vogler’s footage shows three men pulling up in an orange SUV. While two of them scoped out a nearby car, the third—wearing a puffer jacket, mask, hat, and sweatpants—noticed Vogler’s camera. Instead of backing off, he stepped into full view and performed a quick dance.

“He danced like he knew the camera was there,” Vogler told Storyful. “It’s not surprising. They know they can be watched… and [they’re] not going to get caught.”

Shortly after, the group left—but not before smashing windows on seven vehicles, including one belonging to Vogler’s friend. The damage wasn’t discovered until about two hours later.

Nearby, neighbor Conchetta Riggi’s surveillance also caught more suspicious activity, including people abandoning a stolen Kia. Both residents say the thieves appear to feel untouchable.

“They know it doesn’t matter,” Vogler said. “They probably want to be on the news… It’s like a badge of honor for them.”

Riggi added, “It shows that they don’t care and they think they’re not going to be caught.”

Olivia Vogler stressed the need for action from city leadership. “It’s easy to blame the police,” she said. “But they don’t have the resources. The higher-ups have tied their hands.”

Cleveland City Hall responded by condemning the behavior as “arrogant,” vowing to support police investigations and pursue justice. In the meantime, Riggi is installing more cameras. “What else can you do?” she said. “By the time police arrive, it’s already too late.”
