Bangladeshi official proposes to target Indian states in case of war

A former Bangladeshi military officer and senior official in the interim government has suggested taking over Indian states in the event of an attack on Pakistan.
According to media reports, former Bangladesh Rifles chief Major General (retired) Fazlur Rehman, in a post on Facebook, suggested to the interim government that if India attacks Pakistan, it should occupy its northeastern states.
Fazlur Rehman also suggested that Bangladesh needs to start talks with China on a joint military system.
This proposal from a senior Bangladeshi government official comes at a time when India has falsely accused Pakistan of involvement in the Pahalgam incident.
The interim government last year appointed Fazlur Rehman to head a seven-member independent commission that will reinvestigate the 2009 uprising and the massacre at the Pilkhana headquarters of the then Bangladesh Rifles, in which 74 people, including 57 military officers, were killed.
