Uppsala Hair Salon Triple Murder: 6 Arrested in Sweden Gang Crime Case

After the shootings, police cordoned off the area near the hair salon
Swedish police arrested six people linked to a triple murder at a hair salon in Uppsala. The victims, aged 15 to 20, were shot dead on Tuesday evening, just before the Walpurgis spring festival. Crowds had gathered in the city for the celebrations when the attack happened.
The suspects are aged between under 18 and 45, according to prosecutors. One person is accused of carrying out the killings. A 16-year-old boy was arrested soon after the shooting but was released on Friday. Police did not explain why he was let go.
Authorities are investigating if the murders are tied to gang violence. Local media reported one victim was part of a police probe into a planned attack against a relative of Ismail Abdo, a well-known gang leader. The victim was never charged with a crime.

Sweden’s Teen Gang Crisis
Sweden faces growing gang crime involving teenagers. Young people are accused of crimes like vandalism, drug deals, and murder. To tackle this, the government wants new laws allowing police to secretly listen to phone calls of children under 15.
What Happens Next?
Police are still searching for clues about the hair salon shooting. They urge anyone with information to come forward. Meanwhile, Uppsala residents are scared. “This used to be a peaceful area,” said a local shop owner. “Now, even kids aren’t safe.”
