Two British Tourists Die in Morocco Car Crash, Three Others Injured

Two British tourists died in a car accident on Sunday in Agadir, a port city in southern Morocco. Their vehicle overturned on Resistance Street, a busy road also known locally as Al-Muqawama.

The car was carrying five people at the time—two of them died at the scene. The driver and two other British tourists were injured. Their injuries range from minor to serious, according to local media. Emergency services arrived quickly and gave first aid before transporting all the victims to Hassan II Regional Hospital.

As of Monday morning, the condition of the injured is still unclear. The names of the victims have not been released.

A full investigation is now underway to find out what caused the crash. Local sources say the car ended up flipped on its roof, but the exact cause remains unknown.

The accident happened early Sunday morning, as first reported by Hiba Press. The bodies of the two victims were sent to the hospital morgue, according to the Moroccan Telegraph.

Agadir is a popular tourist city on Morocco’s Atlantic coast. It is located southwest of Marrakesh and Casablanca. Once a Portuguese trade center, the city is now known for its beaches, resorts, and rich history.

The city has also been featured in film history, with the 1934 movie Le Grand Jeu filmed there.
