Mystery Woman Body Found Near Cricket Club in Burnage

Police launched an investigation after a woman’s body was found near a cricket club in Burnage, south Manchester. Emergency services rushed to Brookthorpe Avenue around 3 PM after someone reported seeing the body.

The area where the woman was found includes an old cricket club. Police quickly set up a cordon and began searching the scene. Several officers were seen checking a nearby field. Some guarded the area while others looked for clues.

Forensic teams also arrived to help with the search. They wore white suits and focused on finding any evidence that could help explain what happened.

So far, the woman has not been identified. A Home Office post-mortem has been approved. This will help experts find out how the woman died. Police said it is too early to say if the death is suspicious.

“We are investigating after the body of a woman was found near Brookthorpe Avenue, Burnage, at around 3 PM on Monday, 5 May. Officers are working to identify the woman. A Home Office post-mortem has been authorised.”
