Nathan Buckley and Brodie Ryan Announce Shock Break-Up on Instagram

Tuesday, May 6, 2025 – Former AFL star Nathan Buckley, 52, and his partner Brodie Ryan, 35, have officially ended their relationship. The news was shared by Brodie on Instagram Stories on Tuesday, surprising many of their fans.

Brodie began her post by addressing the people who followed their journey. “To the followers of the ‘Brodes and Bucks’ journey,” she wrote, “after much reflection and consideration, Nath and I have decided to part ways.”

She thanked everyone for their support over the past few difficult months. “This decision was not made lightly,” she added. “We are grateful for the time we shared, the memories we made, and the support we received from each other and all of you.”

Even though their relationship is over, Brodie spoke kindly about Nathan. She said she still has a lot of respect and love for him, his sons, and their dog Tank. “While we will no longer be a couple, I will always respect Nathan and the friendship that started between us 3-4 years ago.”

This breakup comes just months after the couple enjoyed a special family trip to Fiji. At the time, Brodie said it was a big family holiday with all of Nathan’s relatives. The pair had also gone on several local trips together, including to Eildon, Fairhaven, Sorrento, and Queensland.

Brodie and Nathan started dating in 2022. Despite a 17-year age gap, Brodie once said they had a deep connection. They shared similar childhoods, values, and a passion for helping others. Brodie also said Nathan’s public work and support for mental health inspired her.

In past interviews, Brodie spoke warmly of Nathan, calling him “a beautiful person.” Nathan often posted about Brodie on social media, showing his love for her.

Nathan was previously married to Tania Buckley. The couple got married in December 2002 and separated in December 2020 after 18 years of marriage. They have two teenage sons, Jett, 18, and Ayce, 16, who live with Tania.

In January 2025, Tania attended the Australian Open with her son Jett. She wore a large diamond ring, which led to rumors that she might be engaged again. She told the media, “We’re very happy.”
