Two Firefighters and One Civilian Die in Bicester RAF Base Fire

Tragedy struck on Thursday evening after a large fire broke out at Bicester Motion, a former RAF base in Oxfordshire. Two firefighters and a member of the public lost their lives in the incident.
According to Oxfordshire County Council, two other firefighters were also seriously injured and are currently being treated in hospital.
Fire Chief Statement
Rob MacDougall, the chief fire officer, shared the heartbreaking news with the public:
“It is with a very heavy heart that we today report the loss of two of our firefighters. Families have been informed and are being supported.”
How the Incident Unfolded
Around ten fire and rescue crews were called to the scene to battle the massive fire. Witnesses described thick black smoke rising high into the sky, visible from across Bicester town.
The fire is now under control, but four crews remained at the scene on Friday to secure the area.
Emergency vehicles, including a fire engine and ambulance, were seen leaving the site, while police continued to monitor the entrance.
