Pakistan Stands Firm, Committed to Combat Terrorism: DG ISPR
Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, identified terrorism as the primary hindrance to development and underscored the joint efforts of Pakistan and China in combating this threat from its roots.
In an interview with CGTN Urdu, DG ISPR stressed that responsible nations must turn their focus to global challenges like climate change, overpopulation, and misinformation, which require united global action. He posed a critical question: “In today’s modern world, can any country really impose dominance over its neighbors?”
Reiterating Pakistan’s strong stance, he declared, “We never bowed before, and we will never bow in the future. I repeat again—our longing for martyrdom surpasses our desire for life.” He added that martyrdom, whether in military or civilian service, is considered an honor in Pakistan.
Lt. Gen. Chaudhry highlighted that Pakistan’s resilience and victories stem from divine assistance, self-belief, and steadfast determination—qualities that have garnered international recognition.
Criticizing a specific unnamed country for making baseless allegations, he warned against attempts to establish dominance through false narratives. “If any nation tries to impose its hegemony on us under such pretenses, we will never allow it,” he said.
Speaking on bilateral relations, he commended the deep-rooted friendship between Pakistan and China, describing both as responsible nations prioritizing the welfare of their people and advocating for peace as a cornerstone of development.
He also lauded China’s rapid progress as a global example, particularly in light of its large population, and expressed that Pakistan shares a similar aspiration for growth and prosperity.
Lt Gen Chaudhry concluded by emphasizing that Pakistanis celebrate their achievements with gratitude rather than pride. He announced the formation of a new united front—comprising the military, civilians, government, media, and youth—committed to eradicating terrorism and propelling Pakistan toward new milestones in development.
