Chicken prices continue to rise in different cities of Pakistan

Chicken prices are going up again across several cities in Pakistan. In Peshawar, the price of live broiler chicken has increased by Rs. 15, going from Rs. 485 to Rs. 500 per kg, as per the latest rate list.

In Chaman (Balochistan), the rise is even more serious. In just one week, the price of chicken meat has jumped by Rs. 200 to Rs. 250 per kg. Chicken that was sold at Rs. 550 to 600 is now being sold for Rs. 800 per kg.

Just a few days earlier, Peshawar had already seen a big rise of Rs. 65 per kg in chicken prices in one week, with the rate going from Rs. 420 to Rs. 485.

In Lahore, on May 15, the price of live broiler chicken increased by Rs. 3 per kg, and the price of eggs went up by Re. 1 per dozen. The new wholesale price of chicken was Rs. 397, and the retail price was Rs. 411 per kg. Eggs were sold at Rs. 281 per dozen.

A day earlier, on May 14, Lahore’s wholesale chicken rate was Rs. 394, retail Rs. 408, and eggs were Rs. 280 per dozen.

In Multan, chicken was priced at Rs. 398 wholesale and Rs. 412 retail, while eggs were being sold at Rs. 281 per dozen.
