A tragic incident unfolded on Friday, May 23, at Barry Island Pleasure Park in Wales, where a 16-year-old boy named Taha Soomro, from Grangetown in Cardiff, died following a medical emergency.

The teenager collapsed just before 5 p.m. while the park was filled with families enjoying a sunny evening. Emergency services, including an air ambulance, rushed to the scene and tried to revive him, but sadly, Taha was declared dead at the scene.

South Wales Police have since arrested a 15-year-old boy, also from Grangetown, on suspicion of assault in connection with the incident. Authorities are now appealing to anyone who was in the area or who may have captured footage of the event to come forward.

A statement from the park read: “Very sad news yesterday. All of our team did their best to assist the emergency services but unfortunately the boy suffered a medical emergency and could not be saved.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this very sad time.

The park remains open this morning at 11am as usual.”
