PM meets Iran’s supreme leader in Tehran

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met with Iran’s Supreme Leader Seyyed Ali Khamenei in Tehran on Monday.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Federal Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, and Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar also accompanied the Prime Minister.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed his utmost respect for the Supreme Leader, emphasizing that he is a prominent figure in the Muslim world and that the Muslim Ummah looks to him for guidance and patronage.
The Prime Minister briefed the Supreme Leader on the recent conflicts with India and India’s hegemonic and narrow-minded ambitions and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Iranian leadership for supporting Pakistan against Indian aggression.
The prime minister emphasized that Pakistan has always desired peace in the region, which would lead to economic development and prosperity.
The Prime Minister briefed the Supreme Leader on the steps taken to promote Pakistan-Iran relations and said that Pakistan is committed to further strengthening strategic cooperation with Iran.
The Prime Minister praised the Iranian leadership’s foresight in advancing nuclear negotiations with the United States and expressed hope that a constructive agreement would be reached between the two countries. This would promote peace and stability in the region.
The Supreme Leader appreciated Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s farsighted efforts to promote regional peace and stability and praised his personal commitment to further strengthening Pak-Iran relations. The Supreme Leader prayed for further prosperity and development of Pakistan and its people.
The Prime Minister deeply appreciated the Supreme Leader’s dedication to the poetry and thoughts of the poet of the East, Allama Iqbal, and specifically requested the Supreme Leader to visit Pakistan soon.
