“It says Islamabad and Rawalpindi are at particular risk as two weather systems are expected to merge, potentially bringing strong winds and intense rainfall tonight.”
The NEOC has also forecast severe conditions including hailstorms, windstorms, and heavy rain for areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and both North and South Eastern Punjab.
“In Southern Punjab, particularly Rohi and Rahim Yar Khan, a slow-moving system is likely to bring moderate but prolonged rainfall.”
From Peshawar to Parachinar, thunderstorms with strong winds and heavy rain are expected. Similar weather conditions are likely in Muzaffarabad and the Neelum Valley.
Authorities have issued public safety advisories, urging residents to avoid unnecessary travel, especially in flood-prone and hilly areas. “Residents are urged to secure weak structures, trees, power lines, and solar panels. Motorists are advised to park vehicles in safe, covered locations.”
