DHA assault case: Sudhir Forgives Salman Farooqi in Karachi DHA Torture Case

In a major update on the Karachi DHA torture case, the young victim Sudhir appeared before the South Judicial Magistrate and officially forgave the main accused, Salman Farooqi, and another man linked to the incident.

During the hearing, Sudhir told the court that he had not known about the earlier summons. He said he only appeared after his lawyer informed him on the same day as the court hearing.

No Pressure, No Case – Says Victim

When asked by the judge, Sudhir clearly stated that he was not under any pressure. He said, “I do not want to file any case. I have forgiven the accused. I have no objection to whatever the court decides.”

Earlier in the investigation, Sudhir had identified both suspects involved in the assault. Based on his statement, the court had granted two-day physical remand to the police for further investigation.

The case relates to a disturbing event that took place on June 1 in the Khayaban-e-Ittehad Commercial area of Defence, Karachi. According to the police, a car hit a motorcycle on which Sudhir was riding with his sisters.

Things turned worse after the crash. The driver of the car, later identified as Salman Farooqi, allegedly attacked Sudhir after the accident. The incident drew widespread attention on social media and news outlets.
