A physics teacher from Glasgow, who was found to be running an OnlyFans account under the name Jessica Jackrabbit x, has been banned from teaching by the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS). The news broke on Monday, June 10, 2025, after a full investigation.
Kirsty Buchan, 34, worked at Bannerman High School when a group of male students discovered her adult profile in 2022. The images quickly spread among pupils, and the matter was reported to the school’s headteacher, Seonaidh Black.
Kirsty, who is also a mother of one, had written in her OnlyFans bio that she was a “good teacher gone bad… really bad”. She used her profession in the account description and uploaded explicit content regularly. She claimed to have made £60,000 in just one month from the site.
‘A Bad Day for Freedom of Expression’
The GTCS panel said Kirsty had blurred the line between private and professional life. Her profile and images were accessible online without age restrictions. This led to the tribunal’s decision to remove her from the teaching register permanently.
However, Kirsty called the ruling a “kangaroo court” and said the decision was unfair and too harsh. She told the Daily Record that her OnlyFans content was meant for adults, not students. She insisted she never expected pupils to see the photos.
“I’m upset even though I knew it would go this way. This is a bad day for freedom of expression,” she said.
She added that being banned from teaching made her feel heartbroken. “I know I was a very good teacher. I really cared about the children I taught. I would’ve loved to keep teaching, but that chance was taken from me.”
Kirsty attended the same school as a student years ago before working there. She resigned from her teaching job in December 2022 after the scandal erupted. She did not attend the GTCS hearing or give evidence.
What the School Said
Headteacher Seonaidh Black told the panel that S5 and S6 pupils came to her, excited and whispering about something big. One said, “Look out for Jessica Jackrabbit.” Soon after, staff members began asking questions, and it became clear that everyone knew about the situation.
GTCS investigator Hannah Oakley said Kirsty failed to protect her content from minors. Panel member Gary Burton said she used her profession to attract viewers and that her actions were “incompatible with being a registered teacher.”
Kirsty defended herself, saying she was “loyal and decent” and always lived by proper values. She said she felt let down and misunderstood.
