Pre-Monsoon Likely to begin from June 22: Met Office

The Meteorological Department has indicated that the pre-monsoon season is likely to begin from June 22.

Director General of the Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Irfan Ali Kathia, said that this year’s monsoon rainfall will be 25 percent more than usual, while rainfall in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, Gujranwala and Sialkot could be up to 60 percent more.

Irfan Ali said that PDMA has completed all arrangements to deal with the flood situation.

Relevant agencies have been put on high alert to protect citizens and minimize potential losses.
