27 Injured as Signal Pole Ladder Hits Moving Trains Near Khanewal

A shocking railway accident occurred near Khanewal Railway Station on Monday, leaving 27 passengers injured. The incident happened when a signal pole ladder suddenly came into contact with two moving trains — the Awam Express and the Musa Pak Express.

How the Accident Happened

According to railway officials, the trains were passing through the area when the ladder hit the sides of the carriages. Several passengers had their hands and arms sticking out of the windows, and were injured by the impact.

The injured include women, elderly passengers, and youth. Thankfully, officials confirmed that no one is in critical condition.

Possible Conspiracy?

Officials suspect that this might not be an accident. Early reports suggest unknown persons may have thrown the ladder onto the track intentionally, possibly as an act of sabotage.

A full investigation has been launched. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage and gathering evidence to find out who is responsible for the incident.

Rescue and Medical Aid

Rescue 1122 teams arrived at the scene immediately after the accident.

  • Four people were treated on the spot.

  • Thirteen passengers were shifted to Civil Hospital Khanewal for further treatment.

Rescue teams confirmed that all 27 injured received prompt medical attention.

Officials Respond

Railway authorities have expressed serious concern and said this incident could have resulted in loss of life. They are taking the matter seriously and working to improve safety protocols to prevent similar events in the future.

Security has been increased across railway tracks in southern Punjab.
