22 June, 2025 10:57

War sirens sounded across Israel, including Tel Aviv, as it activated its air defense systems in response to a major strikes by Iran.

According to Arab media, multiple Iranian missiles struck the Israeli city of Haifa, while explosions were also reported in Tel Aviv. Israeli media confirmed that the missile strikes caused damage in several parts of the country.

An Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) spokesperson stated that 14 strategic sites in Tel Aviv and Haifa were hit. He described the operation as one of Iran’s most successful to date.

According to the spokesperson, long-range Qadr-F missiles were used in Haifa, targeting Israeli military software company offices, a power plant, an oil refinery, an airbase, the Israeli cyber command, and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems headquarters.

Arab media reported that the strikes directly impacted buildings in various areas, including both Haifa and Tel Aviv. Between 20 to 40 ballistic missiles were launched by Iran, prompting war sirens in more than 400 Israeli cities, towns, and regions.

According to Tehran Times, the Iranian missile strikes resulted in widespread destruction in the Palestinian occupied territories.

The French news agency AFP reported that following the US airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, Iran retaliated with missile attacks targeting three locations in Israel, including the coastal city of Tel Aviv. Emergency responders and police confirmed that at least 23 people were injured during the attacks.

Israel’s emergency service, Magen David Adom, said they transported 23 injured individuals to hospitals, including a 30-year-old man who sustained moderate injuries from shell fragments to his upper body.

After missile alerts were issued, sirens were heard across Israel, and the country’s air defense systems were promptly activated. Loud explosions were reported in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

Israeli police verified that debris from weapons fell in the northern area, including near the port city of Haifa.

It’s important to note that missile attack reporting in Israel is heavily censored by the military; nevertheless, official records show that since the conflict with Iran began on June 13, over 50 missiles have struck various parts of Israel, resulting in 25 fatalities.

Al Jazeera reported that Jordan’s Public Security Department sounded sirens throughout all provinces due to the risk of air raids.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military stated they successfully shot down two drones believed to have been sent by Iran. These drones, reportedly launched from the east, were intercepted near the Jordanian border.

In response to the situation, Israel’s Airports Authority declared the suspension of all flights in Israeli airspace until further notice.

The authority emphasized that “due to current circumstances, all air traffic within Israeli airspace is halted.”

However, land border crossings with Egypt and Jordan remain operational as usual.
