Perth Woman Booted Off Virgin Flight After Bum Bag Argument With Cabin Crew

A Perth woman (above, gesturing at a stewardess) travelling from Western Australia to Melbourne was hauled off a plane before departure after a bizarre altercation with cabin crew
A 28-year-old woman from Perth was removed from a Virgin Australia flight on Friday after a heated confrontation with cabin crew over a bum bag.
The flight, which was bound for Melbourne from Perth, had not yet taken off when the incident occurred on the tarmac. According to footage taken by another passenger, the woman was seen arguing with a flight attendant, refusing to comply with safety instructions.
Argument Over Bum Bag Sparks Disruption
The cabin crew had reportedly asked the woman to remove her bum bag in line with safety protocols, which require all loose items to be stowed away during takeoff. However, the woman allegedly refused multiple times, misinterpreting the instruction as something more intrusive.
“You’re telling me to take my clothes off on a plane, f*** off,” the woman shouted, accusing the flight attendant of being inappropriate.
The flight attendant calmly responded: “No I didn’t say that… you had a bum bag on. In the event of an evacuation, we need to make sure you’re safe and everyone else is safe.”
She then warned the woman: “That’s alright. The AFP will deal with you.”
Federal Police Called In
A second crew member was seen stepping in, guiding the situation away from escalation. Moments later, officers from the Australian Federal Police (AFP) boarded the aircraft and removed the woman from the plane without incident.
An AFP spokeswoman confirmed the removal and said: “The Perth woman was spoken to and removed from the plane without incident. She will be issued with a court summons to appear at a later date.”
Viral Footage and Public Reaction
Video clips of the altercation are now circulating online, sparking mixed reactions. Some viewers criticized the passenger for overreacting, while others questioned how the situation was handled. Virgin Australia has not released an official statement as of now.
