Traffic plan announced for Muharram - check here
The City Traffic Police in Peshawar has set up a special traffic plan for Muharram to keep traffic smooth and people safe during the religious processions.
According to a press release on Sunday, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Haroon Rashid Khan has assigned over 1,000 traffic officers and wardens to important areas of the city. Forklifts and motorcycle riders will also help manage traffic and clear any road blockages.
The CTO instructed his team to check all Muharram procession routes and make sure everything is ready. Following his orders, traffic teams visited the routes and gave quick instructions to fix any issues raised by religious groups.
From the 7th to the 10th of Muharram, all roads leading to the processions and mourning places will be closed for regular traffic. However, alternative routes will be provided so that people face fewer problems.
Haroon Rashid also said that traffic officers will regularly visit different Imambargahs to spot and fix any issues quickly. He assured that any problems reported will be solved immediately.
