Punjab extends vehicle emission test deadline - check details
The Punjab government has extended the deadline for vehicle emission tests to August 31, 2025. The original deadline to get the green stickers after completing the emission test was June 30, but it has now been pushed forward to help manage the rush at testing booths.
According to Dr. Imran Hamid Sheikh, Director General of the Punjab Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the decision was made because of the high number of vehicles coming for testing.
In the last 50 days, the EPA has tested around 123,000 vehicles. Out of these, 2,000 vehicles were given warnings for producing too much smoke. Owners of those vehicles were told to fix the problem and come back for rechecking.
It’s important to know that vehicles made in 2022 or later are exempt from this emission test.
Vehicle owners are advised to get their cars tested before the new August 31 deadline to avoid fines and help reduce air pollution in Punjab.
