Threads adds new hidden words features to give users more control

Threads, the social media app by Meta (the company behind Facebook and Instagram), has introduced a new update to help users control what they see on the platform.

What’s New?

Threads has improved its Hidden Words feature. Now, you can hide posts that contain certain words, phrases, or emojis that you don’t want to see.

This feature now works separately from Instagram. Before, filters applied to Instagram also affected Threads, but now you can set different filters just for Threads to make your feed more personal.

Temporary Filters Feature

Threads now lets you set time limits for filters. If you want to hide certain words or topics for a short time, you can now snooze them for up to 30 days. After that, they will appear again in your feed. This is useful if you don’t want to block a topic forever but want a break from it.

Other New Features

Threads is growing fast and competing with X (formerly Twitter). It’s testing new features like spoiler text and now allows content creators to share links and track how many people click them.
