Influencer Cody Davies left with lip ‘hanging off’ after pitbull attack

Ms Davies, who owns two French bulldogs, admitted the mauling had left her worried to be around other animals (she is pictured with a lion cub)
Influencer and mother-of-two Cody Davies, 31, suffered a horrific dog attack in Liverpool city centre. The incident happened near the famous Beatles statue on Mathew Street at about 1 am.
Cody and her friends were enjoying a night out. She spotted what looked like a friendly pitbull-type dog being walked by a woman. She reached out to stroke it. Suddenly, the dog leapt up and bit into her face.
She felt sharp pain as the dog clamped down on her upper lip. Blood poured down her face. She covered her face and ran for help. No taxis would stop because she was covered in blood. Someone called an ambulance. She was taken to Aintree Hospital.
Doctors used 20 stitches to repair her torn lip and injuries. Cody spent the night in hospital and left the next morning. She told the Liverpool Echo she now fears being around dogs and worries that her brand ambassador work could suffer. She also struggles to explain her injuries to her young children.
Merseyside Police confirmed they have “identified the dog and its owner.” Chief Inspector Nathaniel Stockley said inquiries are ongoing. He urged anyone with information or CCTV footage to contact the police. The incident is recorded under reference “125 of 29 June.”
Cody, who has two French bulldogs herself, was left shaken. She said: “I feel terrible and so sad.” She now finds it hard to be close to animals. Officials have reminded dog owners to keep control of their pets in public.
