How to Get Ajrak Designed Number Plates in Sindh

July 2, 2025 – Karachi: The Sindh Excise and Taxation Department has officially launched Ajrak-themed vehicle number plates, now available to all vehicle owners across the province. The new design pays tribute to Sindh’s cultural heritage, featuring the iconic Ajrak pattern.

These plates are now open for public application through both online and in-person methods.

Who Can Apply?

Only vehicle owners who meet the following conditions can apply:

• The vehicle must be registered in the applicant’s name.

• All vehicle taxes must be paid and up to date.

How to Apply for Ajrak Number Plates

You have two options to get your Ajrak plates:

Option 1: Apply in Person

• Visit the nearest Excise and Taxation office in Sindh.

Option 2: Apply Online

• Go to: excise.gos.pk

• Or use the Sindh Excise mobile app.

Online Application Steps:

1. Click on “Quick Online Pay Taxes.”

2. Enter your mobile number and vehicle registration number.

3. Choose “Replacement Number Plate” and select your pickup branch.

Fees

• Four-wheelers: Rs. 2,450

• Two-wheelers: Rs. 1,850

Payment can be made via:

• Online banking

• Digital payment platforms

• Bank challan

Delivery and Pickup Instructions

After applying, track your status via the “Check Your Number Plate” section on the Excise website.

When the plate is ready, visit your selected Excise branch and bring:

• Your original vehicle file

• The old number plate (even if broken)

If your old plate is lost, apply for a duplicate plate.
