Punjab Ministers to Receive Full Salary During Leave

Punjab Ministers Leave Salary
LAHORE: Following the recent salary hike, the Punjab government has now approved a major increase in leave allowance for provincial ministers, the Speaker, and the Deputy Speaker.
According to official documents, the Punjab Assembly has passed the Punjab Public Representatives Laws (Amendment) Bill 2025, which ensures that ministers and top officials will now receive their full monthly salaries during leave, with no deductions.
Previously, ministers earning Rs100,000 per month received only Rs74,000 during leave. Now, they will get Rs960,000 in full for a one-month leave.
Similarly:
The Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, who earlier received Rs37,000 for leave when his salary was Rs125,000, will now receive Rs950,000.
The Deputy Speaker, previously given Rs37,000, will now get Rs775,000 in full salary during leave.
This amendment updates the Punjab Ministers (Salaries, Allowances, and Privileges) Act, 1975, and aligns the leave benefits with the new salary structure.
The move comes after the Punjab government earlier approved a 10% salary increase and 5% pension raise in the 2025–26 budget.
