Trump signs the sweeping spending and tax legislation, known as”One Big Beautiful Bill Act”

Trump Warns Extra 10% Tariff for Countries Aligning with BRICS Policies
President Donald Trump signed a massive tax and spending bill at the White House. The ceremony took place on the South Lawn during Independence Day celebrations.
The new law is one of Trump’s biggest wins in his second term. It includes major tax cuts, huge spending cuts, and record-breaking border security funding. It also makes Trump’s 2017 tax cuts permanent and sets money aside to fund his immigration crackdown.
The bill passed in the House of Representatives by a tight vote—218 in favor, 214 against. Only two Republicans joined all 212 Democrats in voting “no.”
What’s in the Bill?
The law includes:
Permanent tax cuts from Trump’s first term
A large cut in federal spending
The biggest investment in border security in U.S. history
Major changes to healthcare and welfare programs
Nonpartisan experts say the bill may add over $3 trillion to the national debt, which already stands at $36.2 trillion.
Some Republicans were worried about the cost and the bill’s impact on health coverage. But in the end, most still supported it.
Trump Celebrates With Military and Supporters
President Trump praised the bill during the ceremony. He said the law would help “so many different groups of people” including the military and workers across America.
“This is the biggest tax cut, the biggest spending cut, and the largest border security investment in American history,” Trump said.
The ceremony featured stealth bombers and fighter jet flyovers, similar to those used in recent U.S. strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites. The crowd included military families, White House staff, and Republican lawmakers.
Democrats Strongly Opposed the Bill
House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries gave a record-breaking 8-hour, 46-minute speech against the bill. He said it favors the wealthy and hurts low-income Americans.
Jeffries warned it would remove millions of people from federal health insurance and cut food aid. “This bill is a handout for the rich,” he said.
